Uva Ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) was first used by Welsh physicians on the 13th century. Its leaves were officially a drug for urinary antiseptic in the United States Pharmacopoeia and the National Formulary from 1820 until 1950.
Uva Ursi has antiseptic, astringent, and diuretic properties which support urinary tract, bladder, liver, and kidney function and health by facilitating the expulsion of toxins from the urinary tract, soothing, strengthening, and tightening irritated and inflamed tissues, reducing bloating, and assisting in the treatment of urinary tract infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and nephritis
